JOIDES Resolution

The world’s most successful core sampling research vessel.

The mission of the JOIDES Resolution is to explore the Earth below the oceans of the world to investigate the origin and the evolution of the Earth. The ship is a dynamically positioned non-riser drilling/coring vessel capable of operating in water depths of 7,000 meters, and with holes cored to depths of 2,000 meters below the seafloor.
